The Fox and Goose

The Fox and Goose is a business hotel with a separate pub and restaurant in Ealing, West London. In 2017 we were asked to redesign the pub and restaurant, as well as the hotel guest rooms, lobby, reception and corridors.

The main bar was a classic example of an inter-war pub, so instead of creating a trend-lead design scheme, we set out to restore the pub and restaurant to its original glory. By approaching the project as a restoration - with some modern touches – the design will remain relevant for years to come, avoiding the need for further refurbishment as trends come and go.

Our redesign of the hotel saw the overall room count increase from 73 to 80, significantly increasing revenue. Sustainable and ethical choices were at the centre of our decision-making when creating the guest rooms. Products and materials were assessed on the five principles of aesthetic quality, build quality, cost, environmental and social impact. The hotel was short-listed for the 2019 Brit List Eco-Design Award.
